What do you believe?

We believe in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We believe that He lived a perfect life so that He could offer Himself as a sacrifice for the sins of the world, and on the third day following His crucifixion, He arose from the dead so that we might also one day be resurrected. We seek to uplift others in the way that Jesus and His disciples intended, to be a light of the world and a church for churches. We believe that we live the Gospel by showing love to each other and praising God every step of the way.
Is this the same as Eastern Orthodoxy?

No. Although both of us use the word “Orthodox” in our names, our faith is very different. The Eastern Orthodox Church follows apostolic succession through an unbroken laying on of hands that traces all the way back to the original apostles. We, on the other hand, believe that true apostolic succession is found not through the laying on of hands alone, but through the doctrines that were taught in the early church. While we love our brothers and sister in the Eastern Orthodox Church, we believe that they strayed away from the doctrines taught by the early church that needed to be restored both through tradition as well as scholarship. While we acknowledge that there is truth within the Eastern Orthodox Church, we believe we are the most true church on earth today.
Do you believe in the Trinity?

Yes, we believe that the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit are all of the same substance and all fully divine. However, we believe that the Father alone is the source and that the Son and Spirit, while both fully God, are subordinate to the Father.
What does your worship look like?

We hold two meetings every Sunday: a worship service at 10 AM and a divine liturgy at 5 PM. Our worship services are similar to what you might find in an evangelical service and include modern songs as well as a contemporary Bible commentary from one of our pastors. Our liturgy, however, is focused entirely on the eucharist. It is more traditional and includes incense, a brief homily, and community prayer.
Can anyone attend a worship service?

Yes! Our worship services are open to anyone who would like to worship with us! Feel free to come dressed however you’d like, but please no clothing with profanity or inappropriate text or images.
Can anyone attend a divine liturgy?

No. The divine liturgy is specifically for baptized believers, though the baptism may come from any tradition that uses the Trinitarian formula found in Matthew 28:19. We follow the same outline given to us by the apostles, which is a closed communion.
Where can I worship with you?

We are still growing, and because of that, our meetings typically happen in the homes of our members. Please use the “Contact” page to reach out to one of our Elders for the most up-to-date information regarding where our next meeting will be held! (We are located in the Northern Idaho area.)
